Meet Bethany Cardenas
Bethany Cardenas
My name is Bethany Cardenas and I am one of the Assistant Principals at Selah Intermediate School. I began my career in Education here, at Selah Intermediate School where I taught the amazing minds of our 4th grade students. I have also had the privilege of being in the role of Behavior Specialists here at SIS for the last two years. This will be my first year as our Assistant Principal in a place that I hold close to my heart and am beyond grateful to serve our Selah students, staff, and community.
I grew up in Selah, Washington, where I attended our Selah Schools from Kindergarten through High School and graduated in 2011. While obtaining my Associate of Arts degree from Yakima Valley College, I found my passion in education which led me to obtain my Bachelors Degree in Elementary Education from Central Washington University. I went on to earn my Master’s degree in Educational Leadership and my Principal Certification from Heritage University.
I am married to my husband, Francisco, have two dogs, and we are expecting a Baby Girl in January. We have our German Shepard named Dude, and our Rescue Mix named Maverick. These two are best buddies and keep us busy! We enjoy spending time with our family and friends, which is filled with laughter and fun at all times.
As an educational leader, I believe that all students deserve to feel a sense of belonging, celebrate who they are and each bring something very special to our school. I strive to create and support systems that ensure our students are getting what they need and learning at high levels both academically and socially.
