Sarah Hansen
My name is Sarah Hansen, and I have been in education for 12 years. I have taught grades 3rd–5th and have also served as a reading interventionist, instructional coach, and behavior interventionist. This is my 11th year at Selah Intermediate School and my 7th year as an administrator. I truly love being a building principal and having the opportunity to serve our students, staff, and community each day.
I have lived in the Yakima Valley most of my life and graduated from Highland High School. I earned my Bachelor’s degree from Washington State University, my Master’s degree from Grand Canyon University, and my Principal Certification from Heritage University.
My husband, Ben, and I are raising five wonderful kids—Bryce (26), Addison (19), Branson (16), Noah (4), and Brielle (2)—so life at our house is full and busy in the best way. In our free time, you can find us cheering on our beloved Cougs during football season, supporting our kids at their many activities and sporting events, or enjoying the beautiful hiking trails the Pacific Northwest has to offer.
As an educational leader, I believe every student deserves the opportunity to learn at high levels and experience both academic and social success. I am passionate about recognizing each child’s unique strengths, supporting their areas of growth, and building systems that help all students thrive.
