Sarah Hansen

My name is Sarah Hansen and I have been in education for 10 years. I have taught grades 3rd-5th and have also been in the roles of a reading interventionist, instructional coach and behavior interventionist. This is my 9th year at Selah Intermediate School and my 5th year as an administrator. I love being a building principal and getting to serve our students, staff and community.

I have lived in the Yakima Valley most of my life and graduated from Highland High School.  I received my Bachelor’s degree from Washington State University, my Master’s degree from Grand Canyon University, and my Principal Certification from Heritage University.

I am married to my husband, Ben, and have five children.  Bryce (24), Addison (17), Branson (14), Noah (2) and Brielle (6 mo) On our free time, you can find us spending time watching our beloved Cougs play football, watching our kids play a variety of sports throughout the year, and enjoy time hiking the beautiful PNW.

As an educational leader, I believe in equality for all students to learn at high levels and to achieve academic and social success.  We must value each individual student’s strengths and areas of growth to capitalize on their success.
